Meet the Designers
The most creative minds of our era are touched by the creations of Alex & Lee. Their jewelry has ravaged the pages of Vogue, Bazaar and W, and found their ways to the hearts as well as the private collections of the likes of Cher, Elton John, and Diana Ross. Salvatore Dali and his wife Gala were devoted fans of the jewelry. Each piece is entirely handmade by Lee and Greg in their studio and home in The Sea Ranch, California. The trademark of Alex & Lee is cord knotting in the tradition of passementerie. Hand dyed cording, fused with gemstone and mineral, suggest entirely organic and natural origins and the key elements in these creations are the play of color, texture, and luster, the marriage of fiber and mineral, as well as found objects. For more information on the extraordinary legacy of Alex&Lee visit http://HYPERLINK "http://www.alexandlee.com/"www.alexandlee.com.
Colourdance by Keiki Fujita, the Art of Beautification, specializes in hand-dyed textile art, fashion, and interior design. Keiki's unique perception of style, color and texture are a fusion of Eastern tradition and Western education. Keiki's work has been shown in galleries and specialty boutiques from New York to Tokyo, and her creations are in the wardrobes of Elizabeth Taylor, Whoopi Goldberg, Linda Rhonstadt, Sela Ward, Robert Plant and Nobu McCarthy as well as many local clients. She studied in Japan with master painter, Nishihiro Fujita for many years, and ultimately created her own inspired work that led to an association with the Sandra Sakata gallery, Obiko, in San Francisco. Keiki’s Art of Beautification now encompasses other fabrics including velvet, sheer and textured silks. “My work is an expression of beauty and individuality,” states Keiki.
Loretta Warner is an artisan and master craftswoman, a trained fashion designer. She is passionate about making beautiful clothing and art. “Light is the most invaluable of tools in the transformation of yarns and luxurious materials into timeless pieces,” states Loretta. Well known for her use of beautiful colors and mixing up the textures and layers, Loretta’s command of her craft is an inspiration as well as a pleasure to own. The Collection is sold to private clients who visit her beautiful studio, located in Berkeley, at select boutiques and soon to be offered via her web site: "http://lorettawarner.com" http://lorettawarner.com. All work is hand loomed and hand made on the premises of her studio. Loretta is an instructor at City College of San Francisco and she gives hands on workshops. Loretta designs for private firms, and is available to speak and provide instruction on many subjects in the textile arts.
